Yep, it actually flies! The Stratus wing is great. Didn't spend too much time in the air as the motormounts are too stiff and I was getting too much vibration. Anyway, it was a milestone for a guy who just turned 60 and can now say I designed a real flying machine and lived to tell about it. Below is a pic of the last landing sans engine. Note the very still prop? Deadsticked that baby in on my second landing and with about a 10mph down the runway headwind, it was going all of about 12mph. Cool. Way cool. |
